A Glimpse Into My Life....

Blogging is a great way to keep people informed about what's going on in your life. It’s a central place that you can share information with several people at once instead of composing multiple emails or making numerous phone calls. That’s why I’ve entitled my blog “A Glimpse Into My Life…”. Those of you who have been invited to read my blog, please know that I want you to be a part of my life. Hopefully, this blog will enable me to stay in closer contact with the people that I love.

Name:
Location: Carl Junction, Missouri

I was born and raised in Chile, South America. My parents moved back to Joplin, MO my senior year of high school. I've lived in the Joplin area my entire adult life so Joplin is beginning to feel more like home, but it's really not home! I married my husband, Steve, in August of 1998. We haven't had any children, but we do have a cat named Chunk that we treat as if he were our child.

Contrast Between Heaven and Hell

We just started a series of stand alone women's bible study lessons at church (Bible Studies on Demand by Lifeway). Each week we watch a video lesson by a different speaker. I've done several Beth Moore studies and have seen Angela Thomas and Priscilla Shirer speak at women's conferences, but I've been exposed to some new female bible teachers as a result of this study. Tonight we watched a video by Anne Graham Lotz, Billy Graham's daughter. She spoke on how to find hope when you feel defeated. The text she used was Revelation 21 and she described what heaven would be like and then contrasted that with what scripture says about hell. I found this very insightful so I thought I'd share it here:

Heaven / Hell

No Pain / Intense Pain
Secure / Insecure
Stable / Unstable
Light / Darkness
Fellowship / Loneliness
Satisfaction / Disatisfaction
With God Forever / Eternal Separation from God

Then she concluded by saying, "When you truly understand what hell is like, you don't want anyone to go there." I don't want anyone to perish and go to the place she described so I must do my part in telling people about the glorious place God is preparing for his children. God doesn't send anyone to hell. People choose to go there by rejecting His invitation. How can people choose if they do not know. It's our job to make sure they know. I thank God that he's reserved a place for me in heaven and I can't wait to live in His presence!
