A Glimpse Into My Life....

Blogging is a great way to keep people informed about what's going on in your life. It’s a central place that you can share information with several people at once instead of composing multiple emails or making numerous phone calls. That’s why I’ve entitled my blog “A Glimpse Into My Life…”. Those of you who have been invited to read my blog, please know that I want you to be a part of my life. Hopefully, this blog will enable me to stay in closer contact with the people that I love.

Name:
Location: Carl Junction, Missouri

I was born and raised in Chile, South America. My parents moved back to Joplin, MO my senior year of high school. I've lived in the Joplin area my entire adult life so Joplin is beginning to feel more like home, but it's really not home! I married my husband, Steve, in August of 1998. We haven't had any children, but we do have a cat named Chunk that we treat as if he were our child.

Elliott Yamin's CD is out tomorrow!

Elliott Yamin's long awaited CD is being released tomorrow and I will be one of the first to buy it. If you aren't familiar with him, please link over to his page for samples of a couple of his songs. Amazon.com has clips of all the songs on the CD. He is an extremely talented young man and I hope to see him succeed in the music business. You still have my vote, Elliott!

My Predictions for American Idol Season 6

We are doing a fundraiser for the United Way at work and you submit an entry form predicting who will be sent home each week of the competition along with a $5.00 entry fee. Each week points will be awarded to the people who correctly select the American Idol Contestant who was voted off. The points value will increase each week. After the winner of American Idol has been announced, the points accumulated during each round of the contest will be totaled and the entry with the most points is the winner. The winner receives half the pot and the other half goes to the United Way. Here is what I have predicted. Please note that this isn’t what I would like to see happen, but instead what I think will happen. Let the competition begin!

3/14 Haley Scarnato
3/21 Sanjaya Malakar
3/28 Jordin Sparks
4/4 Chris Richardson

Contrast Between Heaven and Hell

We just started a series of stand alone women's bible study lessons at church (Bible Studies on Demand by Lifeway). Each week we watch a video lesson by a different speaker. I've done several Beth Moore studies and have seen Angela Thomas and Priscilla Shirer speak at women's conferences, but I've been exposed to some new female bible teachers as a result of this study. Tonight we watched a video by Anne Graham Lotz, Billy Graham's daughter. She spoke on how to find hope when you feel defeated. The text she used was Revelation 21 and she described what heaven would be like and then contrasted that with what scripture says about hell. I found this very insightful so I thought I'd share it here:

Heaven / Hell

No Pain / Intense Pain
Secure / Insecure
Stable / Unstable
Light / Darkness
Fellowship / Loneliness
Satisfaction / Disatisfaction
With God Forever / Eternal Separation from God

Then she concluded by saying, "When you truly understand what hell is like, you don't want anyone to go there." I don't want anyone to perish and go to the place she described so I must do my part in telling people about the glorious place God is preparing for his children. God doesn't send anyone to hell. People choose to go there by rejecting His invitation. How can people choose if they do not know. It's our job to make sure they know. I thank God that he's reserved a place for me in heaven and I can't wait to live in His presence!

Hello, is anybody still lurking out there?

Okay, so I've been missing in action for quite some time. I've had several things that I've wanted to blog about, but I feel like I got so behind, I didn't see the point anymore. Well, with the new year comes a fresh start and for me, it will be the start of something new. We FINALLY have high speed internet so I decided to set up a My Space account and I will be moving my blog there. It seems a bit more user friendly, but it may just be because I have a faster connection now. Anyway, you can check out my page by clicking here: www.myspace.com/chilewoman. I will keep this blog up and running so that I can continue to comment on other people's blogs, but there probably won't be much posted here, but, hey, what's new? I haven't posted since August!
